What is Digital QC?

SBCA’s Digital QC is a digital in-plant quality control program that replaces the pencil and expensive vellum paper you have used in the past with a tablet and app. Not only is it faster than the paper and pencil inspection, it also allows you to gather meaningful data you can quickly access to improve your manufacturing process and the quality of your components. No more showing handwritten notes on a piece of paper to your team who may or may not understand. With Digital QC, anyone can learn from the crisp, clear digital images.

SBCA’s Digital QC supports all major design software including Alpine, Eagle Metal, MiTek, and Simpson Strong-Tie.

Which tablet should I purchase?

The SBCA Digital QC Program will run on a Windows, Android or Apple tablet.

The biggest difference between the operating systems is how you'll transfer your job files to the tablet:

Windows will allow you to directly connect to a network drive.

Android can either use a cloud service like DropBox or OneDrive (The software can access the files directly from the cloud drive), or be plugged into a PC directly and treated like a USB storage device.

Apple requires a cloud service like DropBox or OneDrive and the files need to be copied from that cloud drive to the Application folder (See the iOS Quick Start Guide above for more information).

(Please note that the Surface Pro X will not run the SBCA Digital QC Software.)
