Lezzer Lumber acquired three-location H.P. Starr and Brookside Lumber, a family-owned building materials company serving the greater Pittsburgh region for nearly a century.

The addition of these three locations—Bethel Park, Zelienople, and Valencia—strengthens Lezzer Lumber’s presence in Western Pennsylvania and enhances service capabilities for professional contractors, remodelers, and DIY customers across the region, the company announced.

This acquisition follows Lezzer Lumber’s 2024 purchase of Trinity Supply & Installation in Pittsburgh, and brings its total number of lumberyards to 15 statewide.

“Lezzer Lumber, H.P. Starr, and Brookside Lumber are companies built by families who care deeply about their employees, their customers, and the communities they serve,” said Mike Lezzer, CEO of Lezzer Lumber. “We’re honored to carry forward the legacy Bruce, Gordon, and the Edwards family has created, and we’re excited to provide resources and support that will help their teams succeed now and in the future.”

Lezzer Lumber’s leadership team—including Mike, Dave, and K.C. Lezzer—has worked closely with Bruce, Gordon, and the Edwards families throughout the transition, emphasizing employee continuity, customer relationships, and a smooth operational handoff. Both companies share core values of family, integrity, pride, and passion—principles that will continue to guide operations moving forward.

The Edwards family chose to join Lezzer Lumber to ensure a strong future for their employees and customers. Their decision reflects shared values, a commitment to community, and confidence in Lezzer Lumber’s experience successfully integrating teams through previous acquisitions.

The combined companies have access to a full truss manufacturing plant in Curwensville, four commercial door facilities, two millwork shops, and 13 kitchen and bath design centers. This expanded network will enable these locations to offer more comprehensive product solutions and project support, says Lezzer.
