Manion Truss of Superior, which is part of Manion’s Wholesale Building Supplies, has been in operation since 2000 at 1001 Garfield Ave. Chief Executive Officer Rob Manion said the business will move production from the Superior facility to its Pillager, Minnesota location.

“This was not a decision we took lightly,” he said in a statement. “After a comprehensive review of our operations, it became clear that continued production at the facility was not sustainable.”

Manion said he told the staff of under 50 employees about the move Thursday, Dec. 4. Several members of the team will have the opportunity to transition into roles at Manion’s other companies, he said. The last day of production is scheduled for Dec. 19.

Manion Wholesale Building Supplies at 1300 Garfield Ave. in Superior remains open. The company, which was founded 40 years ago, is headquartered in Superior and also has a Manion’s Wholesale distribution center in St. Cloud, Minnesota, according to the business website.
