There’s a time each year when suppliers have the opportunity to move beyond products and services and step into a different role within the industry: educator.

That moment has arrived. SBCA is now accepting applications for Supplier-Led Education sessions at BCMC 2026 in Columbus, Ohio, opening the door for suppliers to share insights, perspectives, and contribute directly to the conversation within and advancement of the structural building components industry.

An Opportunity That Continues to Grow

Supplier-led education sessions have become one of the most dynamic and well-attended sessions offered as part of the education line-up at BCMC. What began as an opportunity to add perspective has evolved into a highly valued platform for delivering real, practical learning to attendees. And that growth is reflected in the numbers.

Applications for these sessions have doubled year-over-year, and with a finite number of available session slots, the selection process has become increasingly competitive—not for lack of quality, but simply due to limited space.

For suppliers, this means one thing: participating is both high-impact and highly competitive.

What the Selection Panel Is Looking For

At its core, the goal of supplier-led education is simple: deliver meaningful value to attendees. Applications are reviewed by a panel that evaluates each submission based on:

  • The relevance and timeliness of the topic
  • The uniqueness of the content or perspective
  • The clarity of the learning objectives
  • The credibility and experience of the presenter(s)

The most successful sessions tend to share a common thread: they address real challenges facing the industry today and provide attendees with takeaways they can apply immediately.

There is also a clear expectation that these sessions remain educational in nature. BCMC is not a stage for product promotion, and sessions that are marketing-based and self-promoting risk not only rejection, but potential exclusion from future opportunities.

Key Dates and Timeline

  • Application Deadline: May 29, 2026 at 11:59pm Pacific Time

Building a Strong Submission

Strong applications typically:

  • Clearly define the problem or need being addressed
  • Offer a distinct or differentiated perspective
  • Provide well-articulated learning objectives
  • Demonstrate how the session will benefit attendees

In many cases, it’s not just the idea that stands out, it’s how well that idea is communicated.

SBCA also encourages applicants to explain what sets their session apart. With many submissions covering similar themes, this added context can be the deciding factor in a competitive review process.
