Builders FirstSource Acquires L&P Building Supply in New Mexico

Builders FirstSource has acquired L&P Building Supply, a supplier for pro contractors based in Las Cruces, New Mexico. L&P, founded in 1978, bills itself as New Mexico’s largest independent dealer.
The company serves customers in southern New Mexico and in El Paso, Texas, with lumber, building materials, and manufactured components including trusses and wall panels.
The deal makes five acquisitions for Texas-based Builders FirstSource so far in 2026, which continues to grow via acquisition while also consolidating facilities throughout the U.S. According to its latest earnings call, the building materials giant has shuttered 45 facilities so far in 2026 in response to the ongoing housing slowdown. BLDR reported sales of $3.9 billion in the three months ended Sept. 30, and its Q3 net income of $60.4 million was down from $122.4 million in the same quarter last year.
