SBCRI Quality Assurance Auditor

Structural Building Components Research Institute (SBCRI) is looking for a Quality Assurance Auditor to help component manufacturers maintain their high level of product quality through SBCRI’s effective and cost-efficient quality assurance program.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and lead virtual audits with a variety of truss manufacturing licensees
  • Objectively gather data and review a component manufacturer’s internal quality assurance records and procedures
  • Understand and apply the provisions of ANSI/TPI 1 National Design Standard for Metal Plate Connected Wood Truss Construction); AISI S214-07; IBC Chapter 23; IRC Chapter 6 (Section 602); IBC Chapter 22; and IRC Chapter 6 (Section 603); model code approved reference standards governing design and manufacturing; and other standards as added to the program from time to time
  • Prepare and issue a final report outlining the findings of the inspection-audit and noting any areas of concern and stating any actions the manufacturer must make
  • Review final report and attachments with the truss manufacturing licensee

Requirements

  • Experience in auditing and reporting procedures
  • Superior telephone, video call and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
  • Knowledge of office management systems and procedures
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products
  • High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred

Salary and Benefits

  • Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications, with beginning wage expected to be in the range of $35.00- $40.00 per hour. Work from Home

  • This is a Work from Home position and not centric to a specific geographic location.  Successful candidate will be located within the United States near an airport serviced by several commercial airlines, and have high-quality, functional, high speed internet access. Computer and accessories will be provided by SBCA while the candidate is expected to have a desk or workspace capable of creating a successful work environment. Travel to SBCA meetings, conferences, staff meetings, and additional SBCA related purposes may be required.

Physical Requirements

  • Withstand prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to type at a fast pace for long periods.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
