Job Summary
The Controller is responsible for the accurate and timely financial management of the organization. The Controller responsible for overseeing cash flow management, accounting operations, production of periodic financial reports and maintenance of accounting records. This position will also establish and track important KPIs and analyze trends as well as forecast return on investment for current and future programs.
Controller Responsibilities:

Oversee internal control guidelines, policies, and procedures for budget accounting, cash and credit management, administration, and other activities.

Coordinating and directing budgeting, procurement, investment activities, and financial planning.

Ensuring compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements and professional standards.

Establish, review and monitor financial controls within the accounting department.
-
Preparing and presenting financial reports and risk analysis.

Monitor funds as required of all bank accounts daily and associated transfers
-
Monitor and manage inventory levels including issuing purchase orders to replenish inventory based on min/max rules.

Manage and oversee fulfillment operations of contracted third-party logistics contractor.

Creating budgets and forecasts.

Oversee timely reconciliation for all bank accounts

Guiding financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.

Providing support to management, committees, and board of directors, particularly in financial matters.
-
Create and recommend reports that help senior leadership understand company financials.

Being responsible for the company general ledger.

Prepare concise records and submit all state, federal and city tax filing correspondence, and payments to meet deadlines.

Oversee cashflow management

Track important KPIs and analyze trends

Coordinate audit activities and maintain communications with auditors

Supervise the accounting department to ensure smooth day-to-day activities
Controller Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, or related field.
-
Proven work experience in accounting or a related field.
-
Understanding of applicable laws and regulations.
-
Understanding of economic principles, financial markets, and banking.
-
Understanding of financial data analysis and reporting.
-
Knowledge of payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions.
-
Ability to deliver quality work on tight deadlines, with strong organization and priority setting skills.

Proven experience in financial project management.

Advanced computer skills, specifically in Excel.

Must be able to communicate financial information into sound business language so people of all levels can understand.

Knowledge of federal regulation on taxes and reporting.

Deep understanding of finance.
Salary and Benefits
This is an exempt position with a competitive salary based on experience and qualifications, with beginning wage expected to be in the range of $100,000- $110,000. Excellent benefits package includes paid time off, paid holidays, family/individual health insurance coverage with percentage employer-paid, generous employer-paid retirement savings program, life insurance, professional development opportunities and more.
Work from Home
This is a Work from Home position and not centric to a specific geographic location. Successful candidate will be located within the United States and have high-quality, functional, high speed internet access. Computer and accessories will be provided by SBCA while the candidate is expected to have a desk or workspace capable of creating a successful work environment. Travel to SBCA meetings, conferences, staff meetings, and additional SBCA related purposes may be required.

JOB TITLE: DIGITAL RESOURCE SPECIALIST
REPORTS TO: MANAGING DIRECTOR

Job Summary
The Digital Resource Specialist assists with website builds, implementing new design features, and working to ensure the underlying structure of SBCA’s websites, e-resources, and digital platforms are accurate, functional, and up to date. This role also supports the ongoing management of SBCA's learning management system (LMS), e-commerce/shopping platforms, and other digital tools that support SBCA programs and member engagement. The Digital Resource Specialist takes direction from senior leadership and collaborates with third-party administrators (TPAs) on website, platform, and application design, configuration, and integration. Excellent digital design skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to work well under pressure in a highly technical, multi-platform environment are critical to success in this position.
Digital Resource Specialist Responsibilities:

Assisting with web development on all aspects of websites and application design.

Assisting with the implementation, testing, and maintenance of backend and front-end applications.

Brainstorming new tech applications such as digital storage and mobile technology.

Collaborating with designers and TPAs to implement new web features.

Collaborate with management to evaluate, implement, and manage new technologies, automated systems, and digital platforms.
-
Keeping up to date with the latest technology and programming trends.

Converting video, audio, written, and graphic components into compatible formats for the web.

Using user feedback to identify and correct problems with SBCA’s websites and third-party platforms.
Digital Resource Specialist Requirements:

A Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or a similar field is preferred.

At least 2 years’ working experience as a web designer or equivalent.

Strong computer literacy and technical aptitude

Experience working with coding languages such as HTML, CSS, Python, jQuery, JSON, PHP, and Ajax.

Solid understanding of web design and development principles.

Good planning, analytical, and decision-making skills.

Excellent communication (oral/written) and interpersonal skills

A portfolio of web design and projects you’ve worked on.

Critical-thinking skills.

Flexibility in the workplace.

In-depth knowledge of software prototyping and UX design tools.

Salary and Benefits
This is a non-exempt position with a competitive salary based on experience and qualifications, with beginning wage expected to be in the range of $35.00- $38.00 per hour, plus overtime. Structural Building Components Association is searching for a talented and motivated Philanthropy and Outreach Coordinator to join our team on a part-time basis in support of the Structural Building Components Association Foundation and Endowment. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in driving our fundraising efforts, identifying potential charities for funding, and effectively allocating resources to support our philanthropic goals. This position offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact within the structural building and components industry.
The Philanthropy and Outreach Coordinator should be well-organized and possess a sound knowledge of organizing successful foundation efforts. Excellent communication and attention to detail skills are vital in this role, as SBCA’s success depends on meeting our stakeholder’s tailored requirements.
SBCA is an international trade association representing manufacturers of structural building components whose membership includes truss plate suppliers, equipment manufacturers and resellers, software companies, lumber suppliers, builders, and professional individuals in the fields of engineering, marketing, and management.
Philanthropy and Outreach Coordinator Responsibilities:
- Fundraising Coordination: Develop and execute innovative fundraising strategies to support SBCA Foundation’s mission and objectives.
- Donor Relations: Cultivate and maintain relationships with existing and potential donors, ensuring timely communication and appreciation for their contributions.
- Charity Identification: Research and identify charities, causes, and initiatives that align with SBCA Foundation’s values and objectives.
- Funding Allocation: Assess and recommend appropriate allocation of funds to selected charities and projects, ensuring transparency and accountability.
- Reporting: Prepare regular reports on fundraising activities, donor engagement, and funding distributions for SBCA Foundation’s trustees and stakeholders.
- Event Planning: In collaboration with SBCA staff, assist with fundraising events, including logistics, promotion, and follow-up activities.
- Collaboration: Work closely with SBCA leadership, Foundation trustees, SBCA staff, and charities to achieve fundraising and outreach goals.
Philanthropy and Outreach Coordinator Qualifications:
- Highly organized with excellent multi-tasking abilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as Nonprofit Management, Business, Communications, or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in fundraising, donor relations, and event planning.
- Excellent Communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong research and analytical skills to identify suitable charities and assess functioning needs.
- Demonstrated commitment to the mission and values of SBCA Foundation.
- Adaptable and calm in high-stakes situations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Proficiency with fundraising software and tools is a plus.
- Ability to travel to a variety of destinations.
- Ability to think creatively and take initiative.
Salary and Benefits
This is a part-time non-exempt salary position with flexible hours and competitive salary based on experience and qualifications, with beginning salary expected to be in the range of $35,000-$40,000/year.
