Membership Coordinator

Reports to: Managing Director  |  Effective Date: 12/23/2024

SBCA’s Membership Coordinator will play a pivotal role in cultivating a vibrant and engaged community within our association. The Membership Coordinator will be responsible for all aspects of membership, from serving as the first point of contact for membership-related questions to organizing events to recruiting new members.  This position will maintain records, track membership figures, and coordinate with the accounting department regarding the payment of membership fees.  The Membership Coordinator should possess outstanding communication skills and develop strong relationships between members and the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Handling all questions, information requests, and complaints regarding membership.
  • Processing membership applications, renewals, and resignations.
  • Assisting with members communication activities.
  • Collecting data, tracking membership statistics, and preparing reports.
  • Coordinating and implementing strategies to recruit new members.
  • Maintaining an ongoing dialogue with all members.
  • Coordinating with the accounting department to track membership revenue.
  • Preparing membership marketing materials
  • Organizing events and activities for existing and prospective members.
  • Travel periodically to SBCA and industry related events and conferences.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, business, or relevant work experience preferred.
  • Previous experience in member management, sales, or recruitment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Proficiency in Social Media and various electronic communications platforms.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to think creatively and take initiative.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills.
  • Highly organized.

Salary and Benefits

Work from Home

This is a Work from Home position and not centric to a specific geographic location.  Successful candidate will be located within the United States and have high-quality, functional, high speed internet access.  Computer and accessories will be provided by SBCA while the candidate is expected to have a desk or workspace capable of creating a successful work environment.  Occasional travel to SBCA meetings, conferences, and staff meetings may be required. 

Physical Requirements

  • Withstand prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to type at a fast pace for long periods.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Ability to travel with a commercial airline.
