What a week! The 2025 Q2 Open Quarterly Meeting and Legislative Fly-in, held June 4–6 in Washington,D.C., brought together component manufacturers, framers, suppliers, and more from across the country for three days packed with advocacy, education, and meaningful networking.
Wednesday: Advocacy in Action
More than 30 SBCA members participated in a full day of meetings on Capitol Hill, connecting with lawmakers and/or their staff to discuss how our industry can help provide solutions to critical housing challenges. With over 20 meetings, including direct conversations with more than 10 lawmakers, members opened the door for ongoing relationships and extended invitations to lawmakers to tour their facilities.
On Wednesday afternoon, while some were on the Hill, OQM attendees gleaned valuable SBCA updates on BCMC, the Wage & Benefit Survey, and safety by SBCA Staff. The day wrapped up with a fun evening for a Nationals vs. Cubs game at Nationals Park; kicking off the event, members tailgated outside the stadium before heading inside to enjoy the game along the first base line. The Nationals took the win, 2-0.
