Mead Lumber announced that President and CEO Dave Anderson will retire at the close of the
company’s fiscal year on November 30, 2026. Jon Cohen, a veteran building materials executive with more than 25 years of industry experience, has joined Mead Lumber as President effective July 1. Cohen will work alongside Anderson through the transition and will assume the role of President and CEO on December 1, becoming just the sixth person to lead Mead Lumber in the company’s 116-year history.
Cohen brings deep expertise spanning finance, operations, supply chain, technology and enterprise strategy. He entered the building materials industry through finance at BMC West Corporation, where he spent 17 years advancing through financial, operational and general management roles. He went on to hold leadership positions at Builders FirstSource and US LBM before most recently serving as Division General Manager at Weyerhaeuser.
Anderson, a Certified Public Accountant who joined the Mead Lumber Board of Directors in 2017 before being named CEO in 2020, will continue to serve the company as a member of the board following his retirement.
