REIDSVILLE, N.C. — Pella Corporation plans to permanently close its vinyl window and door manufacturing facility effective January 31, 2027.

The closure will put 133 people out of their jobs according to the Work Adjustment and Retraining Notification Pella filed on October 15 through the North Carolina Department of Commerce.

A Pella spokesperson told WXII 12 News, “"This decision follows a review of manufacturing capacity and expected market demand across Pella's network. The review showed that we have more manufacturing capacity than needed and that growth is expected to be stronger in other parts of the country."

Pella, which is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year, opened the Reidsville plant in 2019 repurposing an existing 150,000-square-foot facility to produce and distribute doors and windows to customers across the southeastern region of the United States. Pella said then that the operation represented a $20 million investment.

Pella ranks #5 on the FDMC 300 list of the industry's largest manufacturing companies by annual sales volume.
