SBCA is pleased to introduce its new technical director, Greg Greenlee, P. E. Greg is a registered professional engineer with over 29 years of experience in a wide variety of applications including structural, foundation, temporary shoring, demolition, and structural component design (for which he holds two patents). He has extensive experience on projects ranging from residential and commercial buildings, industrial applications, and civil structures. He also has experience with quality assurance, process development, and process improvements in manufacturing and production environments.

In joining SBCA, Greg leaves behind his engineering firm, Engineering Partners International, of which he was a principal and part owner. Before that, Greg was director of engineering with USP Structural Connectors for almost seven years. “We are excited to have Greg join our growing and dynamic team,” says Jess Lohse, SBCA’s executive director. “He brings not only extensive engineering experience in a wide range of applications, but he also understands our industry very well and brings incredible value to the table from day one.”

As someone who has years of experience establishing and overseeing the technical direction for multiple companies, Greg has established several goals for updating and enhancing SBCA’s extensive library of technical documents, including BCSI, B-Series Summary Sheets, and SBCA Research Reports. “Greg is one of those rare individuals who understands the engineering concepts and communicates them effectively with others,” says Howard Gauger, SBCA’s chair of the Engineering & Technical (E&T) Committee. “He’s going to be an incredible asset to the association and to the industry.”

Greg earned a BS in Civil Engineering from Iowa State University and is a registered professional engineer. He currently resides in a suburb of Minneapolis with his wife and has two adult children. Greg can be reached via email at ggreenlee@sbcacomponents.com.
