Minnesota-based Scherer Bros. Lumber Co. announced the company is welcoming a new generation of leadership with a new CEO. 
The company shared the news via social media:
"We're proud to announce an exciting new chapter in the nearly 100-year history of Scherer Bros. Lumber Co. Mark A. Scherer has been named president and CEO, expanding his leadership role as the third-generation leader of our family-owned company.
For 96 years, Scherer Bros. has been built on a foundation of craftsmanship, trusted relationships, and a commitment to serving builders, architects, remodelers, and homeowners throughout Minnesota.
Under Mark's leadership, we remain focused on honoring that legacy while continuing to innovate and invest in the future. As part of this transition, Pete Scherer will assume the role of executive chairman after serving as CEO for the past 31 years.
His leadership has helped shape Scherer Bros. into the company it is today, and we are grateful for his continued guidance. Even more exciting, four fourth-generation family members have joined the business, continuing our family's commitment to serving the building industry for generations to come."
