Wilson Lumber opened two new facilities in January. The company, founded in 1949, has opened a new high-volume millwork manufacturing facility, and a vehicle maintenance, closet/shower door distribution and EWP storage and distribution location.

The Huntsville, Alabama company already operated a lumberyard and showroom, two truss plants, and two millwork facilities. The new Millwork operation adds 115,000 square feet of space, for a total of 235,000 square feet under roof for all millwork production and distribution. Wilson Lumber has total facilities of approximately 627,000 sq. ft of under roof facilities on 42 acres of land. Wilson Lumber ranks 60th on the 2021 LBM Journal 100 list.

Additionally, Wilson Lumber owner Russ Wilson has moved into the role of director of engagement, where he will be responsible for customer, employee, and supplier engagement. Former director of continuous improvement Jerry Pilman now has responsibility as director of procurement and continuous improvement.
