2025 Dues Letter from
the SBCA President

On behalf of everyone at SBCA, thank you for being a valued member of this great organization. Your involvement in this member-driven association not only strengthens and supports the structural building components industry but also contributes to the broader construction sector. Today, we are asking you to renew your membership for the upcoming year and continue your investment in our efforts to grow and improve our industry as we seek to increase market share for our industry’s products and services, helping meet broader construction needs.

Each year, the benefits of SBCA membership become more valuable. From free access to industry-leading programs like Digital QC and Financial Management Concepts Training, SBCA is committed to providing up-to-date, relevant tools to help your business thrive. These programs, available through SBCA membership at no additional cost, support your business through the development of a strong in-plant quality control culture and by fostering ongoing professional growth. Learn more about SBCA’s free-to-members programs at www.sbcacomponents.com

In 2025, we proudly launched the newly redesigned SBCA Education and Training programs. With greater flexibility, improved accessibility, and a more engaging learning experience, the new SBCA Academy empowers members to build foundational knowledge and develop specialized skills at their own pace. Additionally, the Component Manufacturing Introduction (formerly TMO) and TATO 1 & 2 are now included with SBCA membership. These enhancements were designed with your success in mind—so your team can grow along with your business.

Another significant achievement this year was the release of BCSI-2025, the updated Building Component Safety Information – Guide to Good Practice for Handling, Installing, Restraining and Bracing of Structural Building Components. This edition features an easy-to-navigate chapter structure, clearer illustrations, updated best practices, and expanded content on component design, code compliance, jobsite planning, and both temporary and permanent bracing recommendations. The Electronic BCSI has been updated accordingly, ensuring that the most current information is at your fingertips.

Additionally, as a member, you receive the best pricing on one of the most effective communication tools for jobsite safety—the SBCA Jobsite Package. This resource contains BCSI Summary Sheets and other safety documents providing guidance on proper installation and bracing techniques, reducing the potential for costly mistakes and safety hazards. Jobsite Packages are also available in a customizable, electronic format. SBCA continues with ongoing efforts to invest in safety through this Electronic Jobsite Package platform, plus the development of a safety program.

In 2024, SBCA introduced the Component Warning Notice (CWN)—a series of tools that includes a Tag, Sheet, and Website. CWN enhances awareness and communication regarding safety practices for anyone handling or installing trusses. Designed to be included with truss deliveries, the CWN serves as a visual and informational reminder of proper installation procedures and potential hazards. By providing clear safety guidance at the point of use, the CWN promotes safer jobsites and helps protect crews during installation.

We also want to highlight the return of the SBCA Innovation Grant, launched in 2023 to support groundbreaking ideas that push our industry forward. With five grant recipients in 2024, this initiative continues to recognize and cultivate innovation in the structural building components and framing industry, advancing us into the future.

Alongside our innovation efforts, we’re strengthening industry partnerships by representing component manufacturers at events like the International Builders’ Show (IBS) and participating in upcoming AIA and NCSEA conferences. To grow market awareness, we’ve launched new ad campaigns in Builder Magazine, JLC, and Structure Magazine, promoting the value of structural components to a wider audience.

SBCA remains your advocate and resource hub. We monitor daily news, code developments, federal regulations, and legislative changes; we keep you informed through multiple channels such as SBCA Magazine, weekly Industry News, the Lumber Connection Podcast, our new Business News & Insights (members only) webpage, and a wide range of tools available at www.sbcacomponents.com. Stay connected and take full advantage of the information and insights we provide.

Our collaboration with framers is growing as well, especially through the National Framers Council (NFC) and the launch of Framing Today magazine. These efforts build on the momentum outlined in our 2024 Annual Report, as we continue to focus on market growth, outreach, safety, and expanding opportunities for our members.

And don’t forget—BCMC  is happening September 29–October 3, 2025, in Omaha, Nebraska! We’ll once again integrate the Framer Summit onto the BCMC show floor, providing unmatched access to key decision-makers and industry leaders. It’s a can’t-miss event for both attendees and exhibitors, and we hope to see you there!

Thank you again for your continued support. Together, we are building a stronger future for our industry.

Sincerely,
