DOL Announces Members of OSHA Construction Advisory Committee

Washington — The Department of Labor recently announced the new roster of members for its Advisory Committee on Construction Safety and Health, as well as information regarding two upcoming ACCSH meetings.
The committee advises DOL and OSHA on upcoming standards affecting the construction industry and the “administration of safety and health provisions” in the Construction Safety Act of 1969. Members are appointed by the labor secretary and represent the interests of the public, employers and employees.
According to a notice published March 12, the committee members are:
Employer reps: Matthew Lashley, Higgins Group Inc.; Robert Lilley, Greenwood Industries Inc. (committee chair); and Todd Smith, BCS Concrete Structures
Employee reps: Glenn Minyard, International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 150; George Samuelsen Jr., Laborers Local 172; and Eugene Sicard, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 304
Public reps: Vince Hundley, SMART Safety Group; Jordan Kozub, FallTech; and Robert Lahey, Chicagoland Construction Safety Council
ACCSH is scheduled to meet virtually at 1 p.m. Eastern on March 31 and 9 a.m. Eastern on April 1. Both meetings are open to the public.
The agenda for the meetings includes:
- Briefings on several rulemakings that are in the post-Notice of Proposed Rulemaking stage, including medical evaluation requirements in respiratory protection and specific chemical rules published in the July 1 Federal Register.
- A briefing on an NPRM to change the Rapid REDON Fit-Testing Protocol.
- Committee recommendations to the secretary.
The notice states that updates or additional information regarding the agenda will be posted to the ACCSH website.
