FairBuild AI today announced that founder Kendall Hoyd has assumed the role of full-time Chief Executive Officer as the company prepares for its March 31, 2026, Gen2 launch.
From its inception, FairBuild AI has been driven by Hoyd’s vision to change how subcontractors and construction material suppliers understand, negotiate, and manage contractual risk. With decades of experience owning and operating subcontracting and building materials manufacturing companies, Hoyd identified the need for the platform based on firsthand experience with the time required to read and negotiate agreements, as well as the financial consequences that can arise from one-sided contract language and unmanaged risk.
“Subcontractors and suppliers often start losing margin on the project when they sign the agreement,” Hoyd said. “It happens in the fine print and the dense legal jargon. FairBuild exists to give them clarity before they sign—so they can protect both their balance sheets and their margins.”
Gen2 is expected to expand FairBuild AI’s contract review capabilities and improve the user experience for subcontractors and suppliers.
Cheryl Lewis, who has served as interim CEO since January 2025, will transition to Chief Operating Officer. Lewis has played a key role in the company’s early growth and operational maturity. Formerly the owner-operator of a turnkey framing and truss manufacturing plant in Reno, Nevada, and a practicing attorney and Certified Public Accountant, Lewis led the company through its formative stages, including building the product and training the analysis model, while establishing governance structure, operational rigor, and a customer-focused culture.

“We have an excellent product thanks to Cheryl’s leadership over the last year,” Hoyd said. “I’m energized by the opportunity to partner with her to bring the product to market and help subcontractors and suppliers manage contract risk.”
“It has been an honor to be part of the FairBuild leadership team, and I am thrilled to have Kendall join full time at this critical stage in our development,” Lewis said. “His vision for empowering subcontractors and suppliers is both practical and transformative. Founder-led leadership, supported by disciplined execution, is exactly what FairBuild needs at this stage.”
FairBuild AI’s impact has been recognized through its selection as a recipient of the 2025 Structural Building Components Association Innovation Grant. The upcoming Gen2 release reflects the company’s continued focus on advancing contract intelligence capabilities while maintaining usability for real-world operators.
“Our leadership team brings operational, legal, and financial expertise,” Hoyd added. “We understand what it takes to protect your company in a contract, and we’re mindful of what it takes to make a deal. We’ve assembled a talented team, and we’re ready to help customers strengthen their contract risk management.”
