Registration is open for the next SBCA and NFC Open Quarterly Meeting (OQM), taking place December 8-10, 2026, at the Sheraton Charlotte Hotel in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Open Quarterly Meetings give members and industry professionals an opportunity to step away from day-to-day operations, connect with peers, hear new ideas, and take part in conversations and initiatives that help move SBCA, NFC, and the structural building components industry forward. Anyone is welcome to attend.
The Charlotte OQM will begin Tuesday with an optional tour of Rafters and Walls LLC. Attendees will get a firsthand look at the company’s manufacturing operation, see the JAX system in action, and hear how technology is being incorporated into the production environment to support processes and operations.
Tuesday afternoon will continue with the official OQM Kick-Off, including a welcome and moderated Q&A with SBCA Executive Director Steve Skodak. Additional sessions will cover takeaways from the 2026 Innovative Housing Showcase, updates on SCOUT and Betty AI, and a discussion with Abby Yoder of Stark Truss on her transition from truss design into sales and how technical experience can create opportunities in customer-facing and leadership roles.
Wednesday will feature a full day of education focused on practical business topics. Sessions will explore how component manufacturers can strengthen their marketing beyond logos and branding, identify useful applications for AI within their businesses, and put those ideas into practice through an interactive AI workshop. Chris Beard will also provide an economic forecast focused on trends affecting construction, housing, and the broader business environment.
The day will also include committee meetings, team-building activities, networking opportunities, and a group dinner, giving attendees additional time to exchange ideas and build relationships with others from across the industry.
The meeting will conclude Thursday morning with the SBCA Board Meeting and a strategic plan update.
