Micaela Valenzuela
SBCA is excited to welcome Micaela Valenzuela as its second Membership Coordinator, working alongside current Membership Coordinator, Talia Montrose. In this role, Micaela will serve as a first point of contact for membership-related questions, help organize events, recruit new members, assist with committee meetings, and more.
Micaela brings a breadth of customer service experience to the team, having worked as a Resource Coordinator for her local county, where she connected community members with vital resources and services. She also has a background in healthcare and public health, working closely with patients and community members. These roles strengthened her communication, organization, and problem-solving skills, all of which are essential to engaging and supporting SBCA members across the industry.
“I am most passionate about helping people feel connected to resources, opportunities, and to one another,” says Micaela. “I enjoy finding solutions, offering support, and knowing that my role contributes to something larger that has an impact on the greater industry.”
With a goal of contributing to SBCA’s ongoing efforts by supporting the organization’s priorities and strengthening connections with those the association serves, Micaela brings enthusiasm and dedication to her role. She enjoys building relationships and serving as a supportive resource, whether working with someone who has been engaged with SBCA for many years or an individual just beginning to get involved. Micaela looks forward to connecting with members and prospective members alike, helping ensure their experiences with SBCA are both meaningful and engaging.
“Micaela’s positive energy and passion for helping others are already shining through,” says Talia Montrose. “Her background in community engagement and commitment to service make her an incredible addition to our membership team. I’m really looking forward to working together to continue strengthening our connections with members.”
Micaela holds a Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration with a minor in Business Administration and a Master of Public Health, all from California Baptist University.
Outside of work, Micaela enjoys spending time with family and friends, going to concerts, cooking, hiking, and baking—she recently started making sourdough. Born and raised in Southern California, she and her partner, who is currently in medical school, recently moved to Provo, Utah. She is also a proud dog mom to her nine-year-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Luna, who keeps her company and brings light to her life. Micaela can be reached at mvalenzuela@sbcacomponents.com.
