Shelter Systems Limited Celebrates 50th Anniversary

WESTMINSTER, Md., July 6, 2026 — Shelter Systems will celebrate its 50th Anniversary Party on Friday, July 24, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm at its Meadow Branch Road location in Westminster, with a special presentation scheduled for 3:00 pm. The event will honor five decades of craftsmanship, innovation, and local impact since the company’s founding in 1976.

Established by the Hikel family, Shelter Systems began as a small family venture on Stone Chapel Road and has grown into a third-generation, family-owned manufacturer serving the East Coast. Shelter Systems’ growth has been marked by continued investment in manufacturing capability and technology. In July 2005, the business moved production to a new 120,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility outfitted with advanced component manufacturing technology. The company also highlights its use of automation and lean “just in time” manufacturing principles that support accurate truss geometry, consistent quality, and flexible scheduling for customers.
