SBCA’s executive director, Jess Lohse, has been re-appointed to the Building Systems Councils’ Board of Trustees with the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). His new term will commence at the conclusion of the Annual Leadership Meeting being held during IBS 2024 and will last one year. This is the second consecutive year Jess will serve as a Trustee.
“Being a Trustee has been educational and a great way to connect with NAHB,” says Jess. “I am always looking for ways to grow, learn, and expand SBCA’s outreach and connection within the residential construction industry, and having a leadership role within an NAHB council does just that.” Through his continued involvement with NAHB, Jess hopes to further increase home builders’ awareness of the expertise and offsite capabilities component manufacturers bring to the residential construction process through the use of floor trusses, roof trusses, and wall panels in a systems approach. SBCA is excited to have its executive director serve as a Board Member on NAHB’s Building Systems Council Board of Trustees.
The Building Systems Councils (BSC) “is the leading resource for concrete, log and timber, modular and panelized home building industries.” BSC consists of six councils, and as the voice of the systems-built housing industry they represent a variety of players in the industry, from manufacturers to builders to suppliers of log, timber frame, modular, panelized, and concrete homes. The six councils within BSC are: Systems Builders Council, Modular Home Building Council, Panelized Home Building Council, Concrete Home Building Coalition, Log and Timber Homes Council, and Associate Members Council.
