The Structural Building Components Association (SBCA) has started the process of forming a Technical Assistance Panel (TAP) to provide an enhanced, consensus-based approach to the association’s technical guidance and to regularly review its expansive library of technical documents and publications.

SBCA has already received interest from professional engineers (PEs) across the country and wants to ensure the group has geographically diverse representation.  An online application is now available for anyone interested in serving on this panel.

TAP members will work closely with SBCA’s Engineering & Technical (E&T) Committee to review BCSI, and other technical documents, while also addressing industry-specific technical inquiries submitted to the organization that require advanced technical knowledge.

SBCA wants to provide travel and accommodations to SBCA’s open quarterly meetings in 2022. The goal is to help TAP members develop closer working relationships with each other and gain a broader perspective on the technical challenges the component manufacturing industry seeks to overcome.
