With significant work ahead on updating the Building Component Safety Information (BCSI) handbook and related B-Series documentation, as well as proactive building code development and advocacy activities, SBCA is soliciting member applications to its Engineering & Technical (E&T) Committee.

“While the BCSI-specific working group will likely be made up of broader representation from component manufacturers, truss plate manufacturers, and framers, the core membership of the SBCA E&T Committee will be the driving force behind this project,” says E&T Chair Howard Gauger. “Members of this committee will also be spearheading efforts to represent the industry’s best interests in a proactive way when it comes to both local building code adoptions and future model building codes. There will also be several other technical projects to tackle over the course of 2023.”

Individuals with a passion for these topics, and have a strong grasp of the engineering and technical concepts that govern this industry, as encouraged to apply.  Applications will be accepted until Tuesday, November 8, 2022.
